Jersey City Municipal Court adjourning all non-criminal matters set for next week

The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated a perceptible impact on New Jersey Municipal Court working sessions. That is why the municipal court was suspended from 16th March to 27th March. After reopening courts, although there is a lower in-person attendance, prosecutors introduce the guidelines to solve only major cases.

That is why the Jersey City Municipal Court is adjourning all the non-criminal cases set for the next week. This is done to provide complete protection to the inhabitants against the intimidating spread of Coronavirus.

Adjourning all non-criminal matters:

According to the New Jersey Municipal Courts, all the non-criminal matters located at 365 Summit Ave from 16th March to 20th March will be adjourned. The announcement had been posted on social media that, “People do not need to appear court if they have any traffic, parking, fine code, or any ordinance violation. They will receive their dates via mail from us”.

They also stated that “The criminal cases including DWI and Domestic Violence require an appearance on the court on their given date. However, the info and payment windows will remain always open to process the payments. Visit www.njmcdirect.com for the submission of traffic and parking tickets.”

Online Payment Hours of Paying Traffic Tickets:

The denizens of New Jersey can pay their fines by calling in these time zones:

  • You can pay your amount without any worry between Monday to Thursday (from 7.30 AM to 11.45 PM).
  • On Friday, you can pay from 7.30 AM to 10.45 PM.
  • On Saturday, you can pay from 7.30 AM to 3.45 PM.
  • They are also available on Sunday from 1.00 PM to 11.45 PM.

Safety Guidelines by New Jersey:

The New Jersey city has implemented innumerable safety guidelines to stop the spreading of COVID-19. They have taken into consideration various safeguards including canceling all events after 10 pm. Police became so agile that they have implemented a curfew for bars and nightclubs. New Jersey got its first coronavirus case of a 41-year-old woman who lives Downtown.

The public schools are all closed to follow the social distancing criteria. These are remained closed for the upcoming weeks. Apart from that, the New Jersey court prompted street sweeper parking rules to remain suspended as well.

Hudson County has recorded three conjectural positive cases of COVID-19 so far. One has found in West New York, one in Jersey City, and one in Hoboken.
